Welcome to Rhinebeck – a charming, historic village nestled in New York’s scenic Hudson Valley. Established in 1683, Rhinebeck is one of Country Living Magazine’s ten most charming small towns in America. Join PRIME TIME™ as we experience Hudson for the Holidays in this beautiful village … “all decked out for the holidays!”

Accommodations are at the Beekman Arms and Delamater Inn. Dating back to 1766, the Beekman Arms is America’s oldest continuously operating hotel. They have hosted many revolutionaries such as George Washington, Benedict Arnold and Alexander Hamilton. In fact, it was here that Hamilton and rival, Aaron Burr, exchanged the insults that led to their duel and Hamilton’s death. A little more than a century later, FDR began every one of his political campaigns from the front porch of this historic hotel.

Day 1: After a morning departure, we’ll make our way to the Clermont Historic Site in Germantown, NY. Clermont was home to generations of the politically powerful and wealthy Livingston family. Members of this family signed the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. Its descendants include the Bush family and First Lady, Eleanor Roosevelt. Savor each room, filled with family heirlooms and decorated for the holidays, dating back to the days of the Revolution through the Victorian Age.

The evening’s dinner will be at the award-winning Terrapin Restaurant. Known as one of Hudson Valley’s top restaurants, the most striking element of Terrapin’s is its unique architecture, as it was formerly a church. (D)

Day 2: This morning we’ll enjoy breakfast at our hotel before heading to the Staatsburg State Historic Site to experience “A Gilded Age Christmas.” Step back in time, as the stately mansion recreates the atmosphere of holidays long ago, featuring lavish decorations done in a turn-of-the-century style. After the mansion tour, we’ll return to the Beekman for lunch and a special historical presentation. Following the presentation, there’s time on your own to do some shopping in the quaint downtown. Walkable and country chic, the main streets of Rhinebeck beckon with twinkling lights, holiday cheer and many unique gifts to be found.

In the evening, we’ll delight in an unforgettable dinner and Tasting Experience at the Culinary Institute of America! CIA is America’s premier culinary college, where some of the brightest stars in the cooking world got their start, such as Anthony Bourdain, Anne Burrell, Todd English Amanda Freitag and Michael Simon. On our way home from the CIA, sit back for an unforgettable journey through a mesmerizing parade of festive lights and holiday cheer. We’ll pass through tunnel displays, towering structures and whimsical designs as we drive through The Wonderland of Lights for an incredible end to an amazing evening. (B, L, D)

Day 3: After breakfast at the hotel, we will say goodbye to beautiful Rhinebeck and the Beekman Arms & Delamater Inn and make our way for home. En route, with visions of sugar plums dancing in our heads, we’ll make a stop in the Real-Life Hallmark Christmas Movie Town of Essex, Connecticut. Lunch will be at the historic Griswold Inn, followed by free time to stroll the delightful downtown before heading home. (B, L)
